Jahorina is covered with snow some 175 days per year in average, from October until May. The average height of snow in February for the last 10 years is 106 cm. The reason for it is that Mt. Jahorina is settled at the spot where Mediterranean and continental streams clash. In addition, the climate is extremely healthy. Skiing season, depending on snow conditions, usually starts on December 15th and lasts until 15th of April. Ski Centre Jahorina is settled some 30 kilometers east from Sarajevo. There are more than 20 kilometers of alpine skiing slopes, well connected by four chair lifts and four surface lifts with total capacity of 7500 skiers per hour. Night skiing available. There is a great number of cafés and restaurants at the slopes and in the closest vicinity offering refreshments and local specialties. There is a cross-country track just few kilometers away from the resort.
